Hi. Has anyone used one of those narrow orange Brew belts available on eBay. Look pretty cheap at £6 - £7 so thinking they can’t be much good. I’m new to brewing so thought you that are more seasoned might know. Thanks

I have one but not used it for years.

They work very well but I just haven't needed it. I used to brew in the shed for a while and it came in very handy then.. Now though, I have managed to worm my way into a cupboard off the airing cupboard which is perfect.

I have used on FB and demijohns and no problems with either.

Do brewbelts have temperature control? If not, how do you control the temperature?

Assuming ambient doesn't vary too much you wrap it up and set temperature by how high you have the belt on the FV - nearer the bottom the warmer it gets and it should basically be ambient + x degrees C depending on the height. As I say though this doesn't adress fluctuations in ambient.

Not the ones I use Terry, I have them on a temp controller but before I had temp controllers I used a timed plug and set it to come on every half hour for 10 mins or whatever was needed to keep that temp. athumb..

So @Dosfairways needs to be aware that there might be some setting up to do before he/she uses it, to get the best out of it, or to even have to buy an Inkbird to control the temperature.
A water bath might be a better option for an outlay of only a few more ££s.

All down to personal preference though and perhaps space.

Have you tried braces? They are good for keeping your trousers (or skirt) up - so you can just relax
