My R-Reg 306 is leaking. Short of installing a bilge pump, its difficult to see how I can keep the old bird going for much longer.

So, I might be forgoing some mortgage overpayments in lieu of a brand new second hand car.

But what to buy and how to buy it?

I recently rented a KIA Carens and was pretty impressed. The turbo diesel was way better than a Ford and it had a very tight turning circle for an MPV. Apart from the bouncy-castle handling, the stupid handbrake, and the fact that its as ugly as john prescott's bum, it was pretty damn good car. So much for badge snobbery!

Anyone else have experience of KIA (or hyundai, since they seem to be the same thing)?

I'd probably be looking at a Cee'd or i30 or similar for about £5k

Any thoughts?
