Just had a thought and probably a stupid one at that; but here goes.

I brew one gallon/4 litre batches and I always use an auto syphon to rack from my FV to my bottling pan (which contains my priming sugar) and I then use my auto syphon to bottle with. My question is - could I use a sanitsed jug and funnel to pour my beer into the bottles or would this introduce too much unnecessary oxygen? whereas using the auto syphon would stop this from happening.
I'm just curious.

I am not a beer brewer so don't know the answer but if you find syponing a pain Google little bottler, I cut the tap off and used the tube with my Syphon as I didn't want to drill my FV it makes the job a lot less of a hassle.

Its best to try to avoid oxygen pick up if you can. As you only have a few bottles to fill with each batch why not add the sugar (carefully measured) directly to the bottles and then you only need to syphon once?
