So tonight I bottle my Chilli Stout and my Vanilla stout. 😁

Quick question on bottling. Am I best to syphon them to another vessel before bottling?

And also is it best to make a solution of sugar and water for carbing or just stick the sugar in?

I have 5ltrs of each.

There are people on the forum that use all the methods you've suggested... and they all seem to work fine.
Personally I add the sugar to the bottle, others batch prime.
As for transferring to another vessel first - you'll probably get less of the trub into your bottles, but it is another possible point of infection.

It really depends on your gear and the technique that suits you. If I'm bottle conditioning then I'll boil my sugar, add it to my bottling bucket then syphon the beer into that.
If I'm force carbing then I pump straight into my keg.
But techniques I'm comfortable with. You'll need to find what you like. That way you'll make less mistakes. If little critters didn't get into you fermenter, they'll have another chance on this stage.

I siphon to a bottling bucket and add fizzy drops to each bottle.

I usually batch prime, but found bottling just 5litres in my bottling bucket tricky as the tap is quite high.

As a relative newcomer and as yet only doing 18-23l kits I decided the easiest option would be bulk priming into a bottling bucket with tap and wand. I put the bottling bucket on an upturned crate on the floor by the fv which is on the work top ;add the dissolved super to the bottling and auto syphon into it. I then open the dishwasher and move the bottling bucket over it. The door catches any drips. All bottles are pre cleaned and sterilised in the bottle washer and hung on the star san'd bottling tree, bottle washer is filled with crown caps, table clear, capper ready..crack on! No fuss dead easy..even for me! I just make sure everything is clean ,sterilised and in order before starting and you have plenty of time..

Cheers

Cheers for the reply guys. I think I'll batch prime then. For 5 litres i was thinking 4g tabel sugar per litre. How much water should this be dissolved into?

I'll be using a spare FV as a bottling bucket. That OK?

FV as bottling bucket is fine, even better if it has a tap :-)

I never use more than 400ml water to 160g of brewers sugar.

Sadly no tap. But I'm happy siphoning. And bottling temp? Back up to around 20°C ish? It's currently been cold crashing for the weekend whilst I've been away.

Yes. Let them condition for at least a week. I usually give mine 2 weeks to a month.

Brewers Friend says 22.8g for 5 ltrs. So would that just be something like 57ml of water? Doesn't seem enough?

I was thinking 4g per litre. That'd be 20g. Any suggestions which is right and amount of water for mix?

I've gone with 20g in 100mls. Will see how it goes. 😁👌
