its just that i read somewhere it makes a big difference to carbonation I use corny s but its nice to do a few bottles as well but results seem to vary in the same batch of beer :wha:
Yes, you don't want too much space so that you end up with a load of oxygen in the gap but you also don't want to have the gap too small as there is a risk that there will be too much pressure building up in the small gap.
I've found that with a 'little bottler' I can fill to the brim (well almost) and then remove the bottler - gives me a perfect and equal amount of space in all bottles.
