Think the ol' girls ready and the gravities not changed since Monday. She's also looking pretty clear which is good.
I'm going to syphon into the pressure barrel that came with the kit. It has a tap that I can put the little bottler thing onto. It's prob one of the best bit of kit I've purchased. Would anyone advise batch priming at that point or sticking to the half t'spoon per bottle via a funnel? If batch priming, what sort of quantities are we talking and how do I keep the syphon sterile, you have to suck the first bit out right? I know avoiding adding air is important. Also, when filling bottles, how much gap you I leave at the top? I have a mixture of swing tops and brown 500mls. I work in the pub trade so getting hold of bottles is easy!
Cheers folks,
Drew.

I use an auto syphon reasonably priced and saves a lot of messing about No sucking so you have to pinch a sample....
Is Doris a beer or a wine or what ?

Sorry, Doris is a youngs lager kit who's been sat in the hall cupboard for nearly 2 weeks now.
She's been coming along nicely and I don't want to let the ol' girl down at this late stage.

I find bottle priming better but each to his own some folks get bored ! ha haa

For a lager I would use 1 level tsp per bottle ( I use 500ml pet bottles ) Lager needs a bit more carbonation than an ale o9r beer for which I use a half tsp. If possible get yourself a set of cooks measuring spoons ( mine cost me less than £2 from The Range ) for a complete set of spoons and cup measures. in BRIGHT FLUORESCENT ORANGE. Very twee they are.
Leave a gap of approx 1 inch or just less than 2 finger widths between cap and beer.

If you want to bulk prime work the quantity out from half tsp per half litre bottle. Use ordinary Tate and Lyle household sugar.
