Hello brewer dudes. I have anooooother question:

In the 2nd bottle condition period where you 'put it in a cool place' do you think putting it outside (it's getting a bit cold - single digits) will be ok? Will it still condition out there? I bottled about 4 weeks ago kept then inside for 2 weeks and they've been out on my balcony for two weeks now. I opened up a beer (Burtons Bridge Summer ale) today but it was flat and still quite raw. I used the recommended amount of sugar for the bottle conditioning I think so not sure. Is it just a question of time? Or should I get them out of the cold?

Many thanks in advance.

Tonester.

you may have had a bottle that hasnt sealed properly s all the co2 would have escaped on the other hand the cold will be absorbed more into the brew the colder it is id bring one in for an hour or so then try it

It will continue to improve with time but I wouldn't expect it to be totally flat after 2 weeks in the warm. As 31BB3 says as beer cools it can absorb more CO2 so the flatness could be down to that, try letting one get to room temp for a day and see if it's any better.
In terms of where to store, the best place would be somewhere cool and with a steady temp..in other words a cellar. Most of us can't manage a cellar though so just get as near as you can. The balcony might be a bit up & down but it could still be your best option.
