2oz dried meadowsweet
2oz dried betony
2oz dried agrimony
2oz dried raspberry leaves
2lb sugar
0.5lb malt extract
1 tsp citric acid
1 tsp yeast energizer

Pour 1 gallon boiling water over all the ingredients, cool to blood heat, and add the ale yeast

I think what you've got there is an ale flavoured with a Gruit :hmm:

I know Meadowsweet, also known as Meadsweet, which might give you can idea of what it was used for! Sacred to the druids and has some medicinal properties, at least I learnt something in Uni.
Be careful if picking stuff from the wild though.

Raspberry leaves - may taste awful but at least should help ease childbirth
