Hi

After several years of joking that I should start brewing my own, she used my birthday to present me with a pack. So this will be a adventure! (I'm not sure she has worked out this could lead me to drinking more, not less!)

I know I need to pick a few more bits up before I start (eg bottles and caps! and either sugar for the bottles or the carbonate tablets that coopers' sell)

The 1st batch will be a 'Coopers' IPA can.

The kit is something like the Balliihoo® Homebrew Basic Starter Equipment Kit' that you can find on amazon (site wont let me do a link!) and she as added 'brewing sugar' as an optional extra.


I am aiming to start off the brewing this weekend, help advice or a knowing tip of the hat are all welcome!

I blame my wife too. 14 months ago I got a brewers kit and haven't looked back. I've now doubled the standard kit and added, bottles, kegs and all sort of paraphernalia. Now I get moaned at most weekends!

I got my 'Beginners Kit' for Christmas and all I can say is I followed the instructions that came from the shop and the beer came out perfect and way better than I expected. Just getting started was great, so much to learn. On my second brew now and third as soon as that is bottled up.
