Yeast activity slows with higher ABV. Give these two or three weeks miniumum in the warm, and then a few days in the fridge. But the flavours will come together properly in more like two months.

This sounds promising! They're in the garage, relatively warm temps - hopefully they'll cure over the next few weeks. If they do then this will be the most successful beer i've brewed!

My Mikkeller barley wine (11%) took ages to carbonate (I have a plastic bottle which I can monitor) and I'm not touching it until Christmas!
