New year new me and all that, I've resolved to get more brewing done this year as I haven't had the time over the past few months. I'm even out of touch with what's happening on the forum at the moment so that must be rectified forthwith!

So I'm getting a brew on this afternoon. I want something quite bitter so I'm thinking:

Batch size: 10 L
OG: 1047
FG: 1011
ABV: 4.7%
IBU: 39.05

1.9k MO
100g Crystal 120

20g Fuggles (3.9 AA) @60mins
15g Northern Brewer (10.2 AA) @15mins

I've done something similar before but with Northdown Leaf and I t turned out really well. I was a bit unsure about the Northern Brewer with it having a high AA but I think this should work. (he said confidently :-? )

Any and all comment/criticism welcome.
Cheers.

Well, I hope yours went better than mine!!!
False bottom plugged up not letting anything through so the pump kept going causing grains to go through the spill over. So it ended up taking 1.5 hours to sparge!!! But OG still came out ok. Was shooting for 1.052 but got 1.049. 14 liters and used 22 g of nugget at 60 minutes and 30 g of cascade. IBU goal 60. Going to let this fade and settle for a little while.

I rarely have a brew day where something doesn't go wrong! I think I might have had a melt down at a 1.5hr sparse though! I hope it turns out ok in the end.
