Well ive been well and truly bitten by the homebrew bug after Mrs knave brought me a Wilko Chardonay starter kit for Christmas currently in the box ageing ( not sure its gonna get very old lol ) So on the back of this i went ahead and done a Orange White grape juice WOW which i bottled tonight after a small sample (mrs knave approves). Then moved on to a turbo cider which i bottled just over a week ago, but seems a little reluctant to clear fully, (any advice ?). also now currently fermenting i have a Aldi extoic fruit and orange juice going (loads of sediment in the bottom of dj) thats just a week old, and a Aldi red grape juice and and apple juice wow. And a Wilko rose wine kit just a week old now and just started a turbo cider forest fruit and aj which is going crazy (expecting a blow out tonight lol) not sure if ive used the correct yeast on this tho ? i used Wilko gervin wine yeast and yeast nutrient, (any advice).

Loving the forum and all the recipes and hints and tips :drink:

Just wait until you have gallons and gallons knocking around and people come over and you can almost give them a full wine / beer menu. My main tip for you if you're just starting out and all excited is to buy a cheap notepad and WRITE EVERYTHING DOWN! when I was first starting out I made a spiced apple wine that is still my best wine but I can only vaguely recollect what I put in it and did and I certainly won't be able to repeat it. Gutted.

My cider is still in the DJ's as it is not as clear as I want, when it is as clear as I want it to be I will bottle it, I am experimenting at the moment with one Campden tablets per DJ pre bottling I am going to do a trial bottle condition with sugar and bottle condition with introduced yeast and sugar. I am hoping enough yeast survives the CT. I put one Teaspoon full of sugar in one DJ and it started to bubble up this could just be the sugar driving up any carbon in the cider, time will tell, 24 hrs later it is still quietly bubbling.
A cold place will help a brew clear, though I am told some ciders never clear. :)
