I've got a bit of cash left from a Christmas gift from one of my customers, (£100). What should I spend it on?

1. HLT, At the moment I'm using a 50l ss pot which doubles as a boiler and an hlt. I collect the runnings and pour it back into the boiler when I've finished sparging. Obviously this loses a bit of heat. How much time would I save if I had separate hlt?

2. Wort chiller, I normally chill overnight and pitch the yeast in the morning. Bit of a pain cos I've gotta get up earlier before I go to work. Bit concerned about how much water I'd waste with a chiller.

3. Fermentation fridge, Normally I ferment using an aquarium heater. Which is fine in the winter, but sometimes in the summer my fv gets too hot.

Any suggestions from you guys?

I think I'd go for the fridge out of those choices. It's great to just tuck your brew away and know that the temperature is taken care of

+1 for fridge, if I was prioritising those choices it would def be first, cos you can manage without the rest I suppose

Thanks guys. Got a friend who knows a bit about electrics who has been looking into how to build a fridge. So fridge it will be  And the Mrs drinks lager which I've never done before cos I can't control the temp. So that will keep her happy.

It'll take some serious DIY to build a fridge. Best off converting an old one.:D

Controlling your fermentation temp via a fridge is definitely the best use of your money. Mind you, with £100 you should be able to make a chiller too.

You could easily buy a large second hand fridge and stc temp control for that money and might have a bit left over if you get a bargain on the fridge.
