It seems to be 50/50 that Forum members refer to hops as Bines or Vines.
As I understand it, Bines twist round for support, whereas Vines use tendrils for the purpose.
Just thought I'd air that little bit of trivia

So I have runner bean bines?

In a word yes!
I've just looked it up, I was wrong as usual
A Bine is the woody stem of a climbing plant, and a Vine is peculiar to grapes

We all have soooooo much learning to do.......

I've had a wee dram, so here we go!

Well practiced brewers have paved the way,
Though our young ones will display,

New ideas and different beers,
And ways some would dismay,

But learn from all, old and new,
and soon you shall find out,

The day shall end, drinking with friends, that bloody perfect stout!

It would seem that Polesworth has a new Bard  :drink: :thumb:
