Landlord.
I currently boil in a bag and am generally happy with the process, I re-circulate and batch sparge and my efficiency is good. I am less happy though with my method of hop additions, tried muslin bags and they are easy to use but I can't help feeling I am losing something with the restriction of them.
I have tried adding the hops to the grain bag (after removing the grains) but the boiling process just pushes the bag up almost out of the water.
I am considering a stainless basket I assume 300 or 400 micron to add the hops to that, like brew in a basket but one that is full size seems unavailable and getting one custom built is probably excessively costly.
So I was wondering about just chucking the hop pellets in to the boil, my Klarstein Fullhorn has a false bottom but not sure how much of the hops that would catch, I have removed the bazooka as it was problematic, but how much hops will I end up with in the FV?
