i am nearly ready for my first biab using the 30l buffalo. i was orginally planning on using muslin cloth for mashing but read someone recently had problems using it and thought it may have been holding to much water back. anybody used muslin for biab or should i go for a bag already made? thanks

i used a large square of viole ... have plenty outside the pot to grab onto.. ;)

works great no problem with draining, and its a very fine mesh

Muslin is fine, just not the stuff they use for babies and stuff...

Search fur hussainfabrics on eBay. I used his muslin for my bags and they're excellent. :thumb:

i had seen muslin at a local shop sold for £2 a sq metre of a roll with other fabrics.

I just sling grain in a mash tun... Easy to clear just tip it out. Use baby muslins for hops as boiler has loads of dead space so I hold a bag of hops over the tap to filter out break... No major issues.

dont have a mash tun yet and the bag is so i can brew using the biab method to get me started.
