best way to mature

once cleared and racked is it best to let the wine mature in a demi with a rubber bung for say a month or more before bottling?

or should i just whack it straight into bottles.

The general opinion seems to be that wine ages better in bulk as it's harder for temperature changes to effect it amongst other things. I would try age it for more than a month aswell.
