Oooh, Yesss. :hat:

I'd brew long and add sugar, because that's how I roll.
Also would do half hop tea and half dry hop.

Sounds good to me.

Thought so,how much sugar would you add ? 3 or 400g maybe ?
And just the Cascade ?
It will have to wait a week or so as my first ever Wherry is bubbling away.
Added 300g of sugar and brewed to 22litres ?????
Cheers

i've just had the last of my coopers bitter, i made it with 1k brew enhancer & 200gms soft dark sugar brewed to 20l. tasted after 4weeks barrel absolutely horrid. but after about 2months it was a totally different drink.

i sent my daughter to get me 1/2 a dozen bottles of newcastle broon & i cracked one open & had a slurp (at this point i was sober) & i said to her "this bugga tastes like my coopers bitter. so we put them side by side for a taste test, to me i honestly couldn't tell them apart, although my daughter liked mine better 7 said it was a bit stronger.

I agree Les,time makes all the difference with this kit.
My family all think my brewing "stinks"
I have a lot of educating to do
Cheers

Hi Les,

With the kits being on cheap at both Wilko & Tesco recently, I have been experimenting some what, the Golden Ale 2 can kit can easily become a 3 can brew (making it a extra Premium kit) i.e 2 kits leaving a spare can to try with something else.

I see you have listed to do Coopers Russian Imperial Stout, do you think you will ever get around to doing this? The Coopers site & that recipe in particular is what prompted me to try mixing and matching. My favourite types of beer are Stout of course & the American style IPA's (I lived over there for a while and can recommend the Sierra Nevada Pale Ale), my goal is to make a stronger stout (5%+ ABV) with the citrussy hop notes from some additional "C" hops.
