What's the best kit beer straight out of the can or pouch without having to make it better.
Just need to make up a beer that most would enjoy for a party.

I'd go for a Coopers Lager.

It's a bit bland, but it's got a nice fresh taste to it that will suit many varied palates. It ferments easily (I've NEVER had one "stick") and it clears easily as well.

Enjoy!

What style do you want and how long til you need it? You're looking at least 6 weeks possibly longer unless you can force carb.
As for kits...the Young's festival take some beating.

I'm really enjoying the B&M kits at the moment. Either the I.P.A. or the Real Ale not much to chose between them and at £6 for a 20pt brew including sugar they are well worth it.

What style do you want to brew?
How long before you need it to be ready to drink?

If you just want to make the kit 'as is' then look at the Festival or Bulldog ranges as there is a lot of choice there with everything included in the box.

If you like hoppy American styles, look at the Youngs American range.

Whatever you choose, don't rush it. 2 to 3 weeks in the fv and then 2 weeks warm conditioning and then cool conditioning for as long as you can (although they will be drinkable after 2 weeks in the bottle).

The Richie's Simply kits are really good as they come, 1.8 kg pouch just add sugar. Look on eBay...My fave is pale ale but bitter and lager both good too.

You're in Norfolk so maybe consider a Woodforde's Wherry kit, in my view, the best kit beer straight out of the can or pouch without having to make it better.

OK guys, quite a few comments. Time is on my side as it's 3 months on.
I have a brew fridge so it does matter the style of beer, just so long as it tastes good.

Thanks hichaechoc, I'd forgotten about Woodfordes, I love wherry, you may have the answer there.

Hi there half pint,

Another Norfolk brewer here. If you can easily get into Norwich, then there is a welcoming and friendly brewing club in the city. Check us out on Facebook at Norwich Amateur Brewers.

We meet monthly, tasting each others beers and have a range of events through the year.

My favourite kit is Cwtch.

best wishes

Martin
