Clearly there is a HUGE range of brewers on this forum. I have a feeling this ranges from people who helped Jesus turn water into wine when they were younger, to folks who started brewing today.

So what is your biggest success in homebrew?

I threw in the towel a couple of times and only recently started having proper success. Thanks to this forum I made my very first extract brew and while I am very proud of this, it isn't actually the best brew I've made. I'm almost embarassed to admit that the best I have done is the OTR mixed berry kit. Lovely refreshing pint, a little bit girly but strong enough for a dunt. The Wife loves it, friends love it, the neighbours love it and I love it...... behind closed doors.

Ahh well, plenty of time to sort that out

I'll definitely be doing this kit again though.

So what's your best? Have you been able to replicate the success?

aah a closet drinker eh ! :D

Got to admit St Peters Red Ruby Ale has been my best so far, most enjoyable from first to last bottle
then there's the Betterbrew IPA
Muntons Midas Touch Ale
Coopers Dark Ale and Stout
Coopers Mexican Cerveza
Coopers English Heritage Bitter is turning into a good pint too.
all very nice drinking beers suiting my taste.
Only one failure so far ( in 25 kits ) and that was the middle brew of 3 of Betterbrew IPA there was something wrong with the yeast on that one right from day one of ferment ) I don't think it was my fault.

I'ce also got a couple of brews not yet tasted ( still conditioning ) notably the Old Conkerwood Ale.

Well, i've not done many brews but the best for me was the Nelsons Revenge.
I would say that it's the best pint i have ever had and thats no exageration, it was amazing.
Everyone who i (begrudgingly) gave a pint to said it was lovely, and the brotherinlaw sad it was fantastic.
I have got a BB IPA on at the moment and have read that it's also a very good pint so we'll see if the NR can hold it's own against that one!

Best received by others was a very simple dark mild with fuggles. Have had a couple requests to brew it again.

My own favourite was a vanilla porter when young, but now it's aged it's more of a search to find the vanilla :(

The common component of both beers was yeast donated by a local micro. A proper old yeast too :)

I really need to get to a meet so that I can try these ales and stouts etc. Nothing I've ever had in can/bottle/pub form has ever left me wanting more but the flavours that you guys describe lead me to believe I must be missing out on something :D
