Hi

I've just started drinking my first ever beer kit, a wherry which even though it has been in the keg for just under 3 weeks tastes good. Can't wait to see what it tastes like in a few more weeks judging by peoples comments on here about it aging well.

Anyhow, I probably need to start thinking about what ale to order next so i avoid a dry patch with no beer! I'd like to do a lighter beer for the summer, I see Woodfordes do a Sundew which from the reviews sound like it will be best for summer drinking. But the reviews seem a little mixed...

So, what kit would you recommend I go for for a summer brew? Let me know your thoughts.

Thanks!

Try a St. Peters Golden Ale - I've heard good reports about that, or if you prefer something a little more lagery then I can highly recommend the Coopers Australian Pale Ale (made with 1kg Beerkit Enhancer, not sugar) having done one last year, and everyone enjoying it. It does need a good 6-8 weeks in the bottle to give it's best though.

Just brewed my first barrel myself. I chose a St Peter's IPA, based on recommendation from my local homebrew shop. Turned out not too bad at all, even if I am clearly drinking it FAR too young. I dare say with a whiff of patience a second go at it with a bit of time for aging would take it from "better than most dodgy pub ales" to "this is a damned fine ale".
Good luck, whatever you go for.

Woodfordes Sundew is a great pint if you leave it to condition for a while

I think the general consensus is that Woodfordes kits need approx. 6 weeks conditioning to reach their best.
This is my experience too.
