I like a normal flavour-less lager ! Cobra etc
leaves the flavour of the curry

Here you go:

4.5kg Pale Malt
15g Admiral @ 60
25g Saaz @ 5
1 teaspoon coriander seeds @ 5
3 green cardamoms @ 5
25g Saaz @ 80 degrees for around 10-15 minutes
1 pack of Danstar Saison yeast

OG 1.052
FG 1.00

ABV 7%
IBU 26

Next weekend, I start this brew so have some questions for you:

What volume did you have in your FV?
Coriander seeds - heaped or level spoon?
Cardamom pods - split open or whole?

Ta!

Although I'm not normally a big spirits drinker, I think a dilute G&T is a really good match, and by analogy a beer with a bit more bitterness than the usual lagery suspects. Plus keg beers tend to be too gassy for curry IMO.

Bombay Dazzler, the Bundobust house beer, is a wheat beer spiced with ginger, cardamom and coriander, so that could be another route to go down.

acheers. Bombay Dazzler is a very nice beer and Bundobust is a mighty fine curry.

I normally go with a Lager when drinking a curry, as someone said earlier, too much flavour can detract from the meal.
Don't mind a citrus-y IPA, but no hop bombs. A sour can be a nice counterbalance to the spice too.

It was 20 litres in the FV.
I’ve got measuring spoons and it was a flattish teaspoon, around 5ml.
I crushed the cardamom pods slightly.

Hope the brew goes well but just let me know if you have any more questions.

Thanks. When it’s done I’ll be happy to send a bottle if you’re interested to see how close (or how different!) it is. :confused.:

come on you are supposed to be avoiding unnecessary contact - do not put the rest of us at additional risk, please...

I think I'd go with a very malt forward type with a bit more body to offset the curry.
Hmmmm a porter with low roast characteristics perhaps.
