Belgium week in Lidl

Just a heads up for those that do not use Lidls for their regular shop ,starting on the 21st of this month (This Thursday)they are having a Belgium week with some interesting beers available ,so worth a look and put a few in the fridge.

Cuvée des Trolls is excellent.

Is it now? It's on our supermarket shelves and I've always passed it by (there are some very dodgy beers here) I'll pick one up tomorrow and give it a proper gargle with.
Are they doing La Bête ? That's a decent drop.

I've not had it for probably about 10 years, I remember really enjoying it.

I see that they will have 6 x 330ml “Exclusive Belgian Ales” for £11.99.

A few of them look familiar from a few years ago, when I bought them purely to cultivate the sedimentary yeast that they contained!

Even at £11.99 they may be worth a punt, on the basis that I can tell SWMBO that they will be “freebies”; after I recover the yeast.

Strong I don’t mind - but are they pressurised with extra yeast?

They were so strong I can’t remember.

should be able to look them up. Piraat definitely is. Whether they use a separate conditioning yeast though would need more research.

Top tip - don't drink them all in the same night. Been there, done that.

I bought it before it has 4 bottles at 10.5% and other 2 at 6.5% and 7% if I remember. My son drank the 10.5%’s. too strong for me.

I had the box one time the night before flying to Portugal . Had a few drinks in the airport the next day as I was feeling rough and got psissed again got to Portugal and had very little memory of travelling and a massive hangover at 6pm to deal with. Lesson learned.

Going on a beer hunt to Lidl tomorrow we’ve got three stores in Warrington and one in Northwich so hopefully should find what I want.
