Yeah, micro-brewery Hoegaerden? Who are they trying to fool? And although Westmalle is a favorite of mine, I don't think the brewery classifies as a micro-brewery! But, what is more, if there would be lactic acid bacteria in ordinary beer, wouldn't that have been found already 100 years ago? It's just like some people only live now in the dawn of microscopy.

How was that a train wreck, @strange-steve?
I'm not sure where to start, but I don't think I'd call Hoegaarden microbrewery, I'm pretty sure it's owned by AbInbev. Westmalle probably isn't a micro either.

It talks about "stronger beers... such as Hoegaarden" which is 4.9%.

Lactic acid bacteria in Hoegaarden and Westmalle? Really?

"Beers with yeast added after bottling have up to 50 million probiotic bacteria."

What has added yeast got to do with bacteria?

I have a feeling that the study has either been misquoted or misunderstood.
