What temperatures are all you master brewers fermenting the Belgian beer kits at? Haven't decided which kit to try yet.

The reason I ask is that the day time temperature in my brewery (garage) is hovering around the 20/22c mark. The garage is detached and is in my south facing garden, so gets all the sun. As I normally brew my bitters at 19c, after looking at the Brewferm site I notice that they say you can brew at a higher temperature.

Any views/advice on this chaps?

:hmm:

It will depend on the type of yeast supplied with your kit, lager type beers with a proper lager yeast will need to be fermented at about 12' whereas ale type yeasts will be fine in your temperature range, alternatively you could buy a separate yeast and google the product, white labs, wyeast, safale etc, all supply temperature info, attenuation rates etc.

I've noticed that on the Brewferm instructions too and some of the speciality Belgian yeasts ferment at high temps too.

In my experience you can get them to work fine at around 20C. I had a few of them get stuck when brewing somewhere that's a bit cooler.

One thing to watch is whether the temperature will dip at night in your garage as that might cause a problem.
