Thanks guys! @Drunkula that's what I was intending to do, I'd forgotten the word (overbuild).
@AXW123 That's great, what yeast do you have for sale?
@MyQul that's really useful info, thanks. For a 23L batch would you just leave it for longer before pitching do you think? I have to read up on pitching rates and suchlike.
Yeah, I was looking for DME and it was nearly £10 for just 500g delivered!

Im not quite sure what you mean by "Leave it longer" if you mean leave the mash longer than 15 mins, then no because it doesnt matter with respect to brew length but what you would need to do is double the amounts so you'd need a 1.2L starter and add 2g off yeast to it.
With respect to DME you can just go to a health food shop like holland and barret and buy liquid malt extract (LME) in a jar. The brands Ive seen in health food shops are potters, meridian and H&B's own brand

Thanks that makes sense, to double the amount of yeast for the larger batch.
Didn’t realise that you could still buy malt extract in non home brew shops, great news. I vaguely remember having it in jars from the chemists when I was a kid.

Wow, @johnny108 that's seriously involved! I think I'll have to work up to that!
@VW911 Love the ginger one! I'm desperate to get out on mine. Damned lockdown :( Considering changing to a 765 street triple when the bike shops open again. I'm getting a bit long in the tooth for a full on race bike!

I know the feeling well. Anything more than 20 miles, and my wrists and back are really feeling it!
The wife says I should get a more "grown-up" bike!!! Like the look of the 765 ST, but thinking of an old 1050 Speedy...
