Hi all

I am about to start my first home brew experiment, using a woodfordes microbrewery kit (http://www.brewuk.co.uk/store/index.php ... t-set.html) and was hoping someone could help me with a few questions.

The instructions received with the box suggest the temperature needs to be 22-24 degrees for the first 24-48 hrs of brewing. However, the instructions inside the Wherry beer kit state only 20-22 degrees is required in this time period - which number should I go with?

I had originally planned to do the whole thing in my garage but there is no heating in the garage (although it is brick built and clean/ dry). Is my garage likely to be warm enough to get good results or should I start the kit off indoors?

The alternative is my basement utility room which also houses the boiler so is quite warm and stuffy - will this be a good spot?

Also, when I need to move the beer to a cooler location for the remainder of the brewing and clearing period I assume the garage will be ok at this point?

Apologies for all of the questions, I want to get started but my previous attempts a few years back were a disaster so I am trying to avoid any mistakes.

Any/ all help is much appreciated.

Regards

Roy

Never done this kit, but as a general rule of thumb is 20 - 22 degrees. As for keeping it warm at night i brew mine in a shed and wrap some foam around it at night.
