Im planning on making a 30 bottle wine kit using a clear plastic carboy, would the following be a must have, or are there other ways?
1 A plastic wine stirrer that fits in an electric drill, or can you buy a long handled one that fits a 23 L carboy, that you use by hand?
2 A bottle cleaner.
3 a bottle tree.

Not essential, but all useful.

A bottle tree makes life easier, and especially so if you use a no-rinse disinfectant such as Videne or Star San in one of those squirter gizmos which sits on top of the tree.

If you start fermentation in a bucket or screw-topped fermenter, then you can use a paint stirrer in an electric drill for de-gassing, just keep one dedicated to that purpose and don't go stirring paint with it.

I have absolutely no idea without seeing one in the flesh, do those vanes collapse?

I was thinking along the lines of this type. You can get them cheaper than this, but this one's shiny.

Mine's shiny too, but I think it probably came from Poundland.

If the vanes collapse you may get it in a carboy/water bottle neck. But it's hard to tell from the picture. I don't use either and just give it a good few shakes. Works for me and the wine clears nicely.
