Has anyone made beetroot wine before?
I have read several conflicting methods on how it should be stored.
Some people say keep it away from light to retain its colour, but will it still carry a purpley staining colour??
Others say if kept in light it will lose its colour completely, and others say if left in light it will turn brown.
I'm assuming it wont affect the taste very much but any advice gratefully recieved!

From my experience it will turn a brownish color what ever.

Keeping it away from light is a must and slows the process.

It is a shame really because when first made the color is great!

A trick I use when showing it is to add some red food coloring to restore it (but don't tell the judges) :D

thanks for that,i would love to retain that purple colour, all in all though its going to be my first wine anyway so i'm expecting it to go terribly wrong!

i`m growing some beetroot in my garden at the moment and would love to know what your recipe and method is?
Just racked a rhubarb and orange wine that is looking and tasting great!!
