What do you like to munch on when enjoying a tipple?? Here's a couple of my faves..

Munchy seeds - Get a mix of seeds - Sunflower, Pumpkin, Sesame, Hemp etc. Dry-fry them until they start popping. Turn off the heat and splash on some Soy Sauce, it will sizzle, give it a stir and let them dry, then pour into a bowl and try not to get addicted to them

Spicy Cashews - Heat some cashews through in a big frying pan, when they are hot turn off the heat and stir in some chopped spring onion, chopped Thai chilli and salt. Oh Yeah, such a good kick and both so simple...

I'm an old westcountry fart. Decent pork scratchings for me, ideally home made by cutting up a roll of Morrision's pork skin into chunks, frying them in hot oil, draining on kitchen roll, then sprinkling them with a mix of rough sea salt, fresh black pepper, garlic salt and smoked paprika.

Goes exceptionally well with a well-hopped IPA/AIPA.

MmM, I'll raise your rack of ribs and add spicy Mexican wings, nachos, with guacamole and roasted tomato salsa, all home-made. Though that does take a bit more planning
Never made my own scratchings yet, must try it. I've made one of my Thai faves, Moo Krob, which is crispy pork - Get belly pork, season it and cook in the oven, then grill the top. Once it is cooled cut it into 1" squares and deep fry it for a minute, you can add it to all manner of Thai dishes as a delicious crunchy snack.

Make that bread sourdough, toast lightly and drizzle with a little olive oil infused with garlic.

The bigger the holes, the better... ooer...

Just an idea...

I love cheese with beer I love all beers and I love all cheeses so it's a match made in heaven for me

I think you should try 'bcheerse'.

I'll get my overcoat...

Oh yes... Truly, not much beats a bit of homemade sourdough and fresh olive oil from the trees in our garden. Great with wine or beer! Such simple pleasures...

And this post reminds me about the origin of my 'sourdough'. Back when I was a partner in a microbrewery in Canada, almost 20 years ago now, I harvested some yeast from a bottle of our Tall Ship Ale and made bread with it. Never looked back since – and even managed to keep the starter alive when I moved from Japan back to Europe. Dunno if it really makes any difference. But I always prefer food and drink with a bit of history tied up in it!

Have a good weekend, all...

Steve

Another beer!

Me too, you don't want to be filling up on food when there's beer to be had.
If forced to though it would be 5 hour dry rub ribs with an apple juice and brown sugar glaze.
