I heard it on the way home from work, was very interesting. Will be listening again on iPlayer when i'm not having to concentrate on the road as well :-)

As did I- go round the forum, there are many people doing more interesting things in craft brewing that didn't get credit. Rob maybe the next big thing .....Following Kev,Shane & the Dronfield Brewery all the other under rated & un named brewers that don't get the credit here & the other brewing sites. But we all brew up to a standard, not down to a price.

Send some samples and I'll be the judge of that ;)

Worth a listen, if only for the comedy factor of popcorn in beer! Interesting stuff how the Mercan influence is catching on in the media here in the UK. Good to hear that Old British brews are being revived and reported about also :thumb:

The Food Programme on Radio 4 is always worth a listen IMHO.

If you check their podcast list you will find one they did on cider (21 october 2013). I was surprised to hear there is no legal definition of cider and therefore a lot of the stuff on sale is little more than fermented glucose-fructose syrup. They made a case for doing something about this given that as with craft beers, there are many interesting real ciders coming out that deserve to be recognised as distinct from the rubbish that is palmed off on us as cider but are really alcopops under a new "cooler" name.

The week before that on 13th October they did an edition on hops ("The Great British Hop").

As for the beer one this week, I thought they overdid the sound effects of beer bottles glugging, I don't recall them doing that kind of thing when they cover other drinks, it seemed a bit silly.

Listened to them both on the train last couple of days. Both enjoyable but disturbing in their own ways. Only 60 UK hop farmers left & the cider regulations were the downers.
