Classic caase of misleading headline, or perhaps its just they way I think but when I saw it I assumed driking beer while eating bbq food was somehow safer. Not sure I want to waste beer marinading my bbq food in lol

I'm still reeling from the fact that the testing was carried out on a coal fired barbecue! ("Samples 1 and 3 were marinated in the beer for 4 hours, then patted dry, before being cooked on coal fired barbeques for 10 minutes each,")

I didn't even know that coal fired BBQs existed and having been brought up in a Derbyshire coal mining village I was taught by my Mum to always covered a pan that was placed on an open hearth!

Liked the beer marinade though! At least I'm doing something right! :thumb:

I think cancer is caused by worrying about cancer. Smoke ****, drink beer and eat burnt meat whilst telling yourself all along how healthy and wonderful they are. No, seriously.

We marinade and cook pork joints in my cider, apparently it makes lovely crackling and tastes gorgeous.
But, what would I know, I'm a pescatarian i'm going to die from mercury poisoning or the effects of consuming fish contaminated by microplastic.

To be honest, I think beer has been responsible for more than enough barbecuing mishaps to make up for the supposed health benefits
