Beer line leak

I'm upgrading the taps on my Mango Jack kegerator to Intertap forward sealing ones, but I'm having problems with the line leaking where it connects to the short shank, even if I re-use the original 8mm ID beer line.
The shank looks like it could do with replacing.

What shanks and beer lines are other people using in keg towers? I saw mention in other threads that some people don't even have to clamp their lines?
Is anyone using the 8mm barb one the Malt Miller sells, and if so what size line did they use and how long? I've got some 3/16" beer line but haven't seen any suitable short shanks for that inside diameter.

I hope i have not misunderstood your question but I use John Guest. I would not sleep well with those barb fittings as i have already lost a few kegs from leaking posts.

John Guest would be ideal, do you know where I can get a suitable short shank with an elbow that would take one? Thanks.
