Hi all
New to kegs and have my 1st porter ready to go. Temp is 9c and have pressure at keg 10psi. Its about 13 on regulator but have manifold which I believe takes it down a bit. Got 3m of 3/16 beer line and getting really slow pour. If I've done my maths ok, should it be about 3.2 feet?
Thanks

3m at 10psi sounds too long and too low to me. I have about 180cm of 3/16 line between my keg and tap, and have my pressure at 15psi. Even then it is a reasonably slow poor. If you want to keep the psi low then def go for a much shorter line. I bought a load, started at 3m, and cut off 20cm at a time until I got a foamless pour. Not a fast pour but I'm not in a hurry and means even the kids can pour me a pint.

I think maths is a good staring point with these things, but you will get used to your system and how much cabonation you want in your beer. It also depends how long you've had it carbing and at what temperature. I have my kegs at 30 psi for the first week until its carbed up and then cut it back to 20psi for serving, but I'm not drinking porter, so understand you want less fizz. If you want to improve serving speed, but less fizz, I would leave porter at 15psi through the week and then turn it up to 30psi on a Friday evening or whenever you fancy a few beers.
