Beer club

I was thinking of trying to start some sort of beer club. I'm mostly interested in the exciting beers being produced nowadays in craft breweries across the world.Unfortunately, most of these beers are pretty hard to come by in England but I thought if plenty of interested people got together (hence me popping up in this forum) perhaps we could start shipping and splitting crates from all over. I'm not sure how feasible this would be (import tax, legality etc).

Would anyone be interested? Does anyone know anything about this sort of stuff?!

I thought a good starting point would be the ratebeer monthly top beers list.

I've just looked on t'internet at a Beer Club. 16 bottles of beer for £39.99.... :shock:

I can brew an awful lot more beer than that for 40 quid...

That is very true! And I don't expect that this proposed beer club will be any cheaper than the one you've mentioned as some of them will be coming from abroad...

As I said, I'm not even sure it is possible in the first place! But if it is, it might help any interested people to drink some varied and fantastic beers that are hard to get hold of.

"Beers of Europe" - on the internet, and in Kings Lyn.

they started as just Europe, and now sell any beer they can get their hands on, from anywhere in the world.

Like flogging a dead horse, the supermarkets and offies, plus specialist places, with pulling power, the money etc etc, have the market licked to be honest, perhaps 20 odd years ago, it would have been a good idea.
Just my opinion!
The logistics would be a nightmare too!

SWMBO got me a membership to the 52 Week Beer Club. You get a beer for ever week of the year. They come in 4 delivaries throughout the year. I have had 4 of the first batch which were very nice. Will I renew it at the end of the year?

Probably not. It is a fantastic gift but just to expensive to justify renewing.
