well like i say its just a idea as we all like to save a buck and play around with bits and bobs

Too complicated mate.....
little bottler 6.99 including a FV tap cant go wrong............simples is best
:D

The little bottler doesn't do the same thing though as a bottling gun.

I have the Blichmann one and it's great as it allows me to bottle clear carbonated beer, so I get no sediment.

Steve do you bottle direct from a cornie after you force carb, how does the drink pour when you open the bottle, is it flat?

Do you need to turn the co2 up any higher than normal when force carbing if you plan to bottle the drink? Only reason I ask is because I visited a friend a couple of days back and took two cornies with me. One had edme stout, the second had a tweaked john bull cider kit. My friend wanted some so we thought we would put some in bottles, but we have no idea if it will keep or if it will go flat, any advice would be great... Cheers

I bottle at the carbonation level that I find is correct out of the corny.

It works best if everything is very cold, the beer, the beer gun and the bottles as it reduces foaming. A little bit of foam is good though as if you cap on the foam you are unlikely to have trapped any oxygen in the bottle so it hould keep for a while.

The paraffin gun works on the principle of compressed air passing over the vertical pipe from the reservoir at 90* and drawing the liquid up into the stream and blowing both out the nozzle , though you probably know this . However , thats a lot of air getting mixed with the beer if you use it as is or with a hose connected to the reservoir feed pipe .

There IS another air tool that might be a better candidate and thats the air pressure washer gun which has a water hose coming up into it and an air hose at the back with a trigger . Dont know just how you would work it but may be do able .

Got internet probs so cant find a link just now . But it strikes me that if one is going to do much in the fettling it may be as well just to build it from scratch . Not that Im one to put the mockers on improvisation , very far from it ! If you reckon you can make it work....tell us !

feed from below the collar needs to have a tap connected then connect to the corny
blast or co2 with normal trigger then use the tap to fill bottle?
