I bought a bottle of beer this other day (and i will admit, mostly because of how the bottle was designed). It had this medieval/viking design, with a wax sealed tip. It got me curious on what was underneath. It didn't seem to be a regular crown cap. (The beer was of the brand baladin)

When i removed the thin wax seal, i noticed that there was a a cork in the bottle. After opening it with a corkscrew, i noticed the decent amount of fizz as well.

This got me thinking. I always thought that this was impossible. It seems to me like every corked bottle of beer (or champagne) had this extra cap to prevent it from popping out. So, tell me this. Whats the trick?

Well, I have no idea but I'm very curious about the beer... :?:

Maybe i was in a bad mood that day, but most of it went down the drain. I mostly drink heavy-hopped IPA's or strong dark beers. Like Imperial stout and Imperial porter. So compared to what i'm used to, it kinda tasted like a dark lager. No soul, no characteristics, not much of anything.

I bet some people can love this beer, but it wasn't really my kind of pint :|
