Bear Grylls Thermowell

Hi all

Just thought I'd share my attempt at a low cost thermowell. I can't take all the credit, found this useful video on YouTube after researching cheap thermowells all morning:



I had some spare grommets from https://www.home-brew-online.com/ and used the plastic tubing from an old bottling wand. Not the prettiest but should work quite well hopefully. All I need now is to extend my inkbird probe lead. Thankfully I got the 308s version with the heaphone jack type fitting. Tested it with a short headphone extension lead and it worked perfectly so off to poundland tomorrow for a longer one.

Anyway, just thought I'd let everyone know how I spent my Saturday.

I've been doing this for a few years (got 3 FV's done this way) but instead of using a grommet I use a Demijohn bung with a hole through and force a little bottler tube in the hole
