I'm batch priming this weekend.

Last time I batch primed I used a sugar solution and racked my beer on top into a bottling bucket.

I did find however that all the sugar wound up in the bottom of the bucket which led to an inconsistent prime.

Does anyone have any tips on how to avoid this next time?

Just boil your sugar up in a small amount of water for a couple of mins and then add to the bottling bucket first and add the beer. That way you will get an even mix

I think thats what he said he did last time!
Do the same again but if you can get the syphon tube in the bottom of the secondary FV so that as the wort comes out it swirls (not sloshes) around the bottom of the bucket, this should help mix it all together.
You could also using a sterilised spoon "gently" stir it once full.

But he didn't say he boiled the sugar solution. Don't know if that's important but it certainly works for me.

Sugar into boiling water dissolved and into bottom of spare fv beer 'on top' of solution, works for me as well :thumb:

I've never had a problem racking the beer onto the sugar solution. You could give it a stir afterwards but I wouldn't have thought it necessary.

If it's any help, I find that if you are pouring your sugar solution into your fv, when I do so I place the syphon end at the base/bottom of the fv to ensure that all the sugar is dispersed as the beer dilutes this merrily throughout the volume. :thumb:
