I asked brewlabs for a yeast for a marstons pedigree clone and they went me one labeled as M. :) dont know what it is like yet as it is fermenting
 
Thanks for that info A. I will give it a try. Presumably these yeasts are ok for harvesting for further use,by whatever means ?
Also approx how much is lots of gypsum?

On the subject of "smelly beers", I wonder if I could do a brew that smells like wards Best Bitter? could achieve that with gypsum? :hmm:

You want to be aiming for around 450ppm sulphate . . .how much that comes down to in terms of grams I'm not sure . . . it's probably around 0.7g per litre . . . of course you can swap some of that out for magnesium sulphate
 
I Probably ruined my version of it as I used 3/4 RO water and 1/4 tap water. I will brew this again and pitch on top of the slurry I think. Then I can compare the difference the water makes
