I have had a lager in a barrel for a few days now and there is a leak where the tap connects to the barrel. Whats the best thing to do as I don't have enough bottles and it needs to get fizzy. I have 40 pints of the stuff.

Would 2 litre PET's work? Just need it to fizz and mature.

Thanks

yep you can get away with 2l pets. Cheapest way to get them is but tesco value sparkling water.

Alternatively you can lay the barrel on its back so that there is "air" at the tap and try removing the tap and washer and reassembling it so that it doesn't leak.

2 litre bottles would work...but it means drinking 2 litres at a time.

leave it well sealed and go scrounging the pubs and bottle banks for 500ml beer bottles...It won't take you long.
