Barrel gas question

Hi there
I've just barreled a Coopers European straight from a kit. Required sugar added and barrel put to one side. Today, I heard a quick release of gas from the safety valve. Is this normal? I had all of the seals checked recently and they were fine. Any help appreciated!

Safety valve is doing its job
Primings will some times produce a little more CO2 than is necessary and escape through the safety valve :)

You should get a fairly lively brew initially, the PRV normally off loads at about 12psi.
