thought i would add to the collective wisdom, bairds malt is defo odd stuff- gone from 72% eff to 65% however the wort is certainly smelling something malty, ... v odd :wha: luckily not got many high abv beers planned and after hoppy jobs this order or i would be
so guess im getting tastier beer thats more liver friendly?- luckily thought this might be the case and put a bit of a buffer in my grain order so i should be ok-
i still think its dumb that i would have been better off (brewing and v similar costwise) buying my malt from rob and my hops from worcestor hop shop and paying for 2 lots of postage

Not great reading.

Anybody used it recently? The local micro uses it and produce some good bitters and stouts.

I've used it extensively, and it was fine. Got good efficiency from Maris Otter in my last brew, nearing 80%.
Previously used a sack of Golden Promise, that too was fine.
This was all from Brewer's Select in Peterborough.

I also bought mine from Brewer's Select in P'boro. My first brew with isn't quite finished but I am very pleased with how my Ruddles County clone is going.

Bairds are 15 mins down the road from me (although I think this factory tends to do malt for whisky)
I've yet to work out if a punter can rock up and grab a sack (unlikely)
