Hi guys

Today i am attempting to make a Badger Golden Glory clone, the mash is tunning at this present moment, and i am waiting with a cup of coffee :D

I am using the recipe from the Grain And Hop website linked by nyopie cheers mate.

Going by the book, and using Elderflower (dried).....so hope it goes well :???:

Wish me luck

Cheers

Paul.

Where did you get the dried elderflower from and how much are you using?

Hi Edindie

I am using 15g for 25l as per recipe states, i got it from www.the-home-brew-shop.co.uk they are very good and quite reasonable for prices etc. and the have a good range of hops Galaxy Challenger etc. Think i paid 3 or 4 quid for 50g bag of elderflower.

Well,

The wort is in the boiler now and the hops are all neally added, the cool wort beforehand was perfect clean sweet and very malty :-D

The malt is maris otter but from Warminster, very nice indeed love this stuff.

Wont be long now until transfer time

Cheers

I brewed this a few weeks ago but added some peach essence to the secondary. Came out lovely!

Yea was gona go for tht option my self, but thought this one will try elderflower yhen will try peach essence the next time, dried elderflower smells of anaseed,,, iam hoping the taste isnt going to be tht......hate anaseed with a passion

saying tht my first brew didnt look smell good at all, but turned out bloody lovely

But I do love badger golden champion

To be honest before I added the peach essence I couldn't taste or smell any peach and I used the same amount as elderflowers as you. Hope it turns out ok :thumb:

Cheers RyanShelton, so do i but hay if its not what i wanted its still beer a :-D

Then i will start again and add the peach essence ;)

Cheers

Had a go at this myself last year.

Like yours, my brew had no peach prior to adding the bottle of peach essence. Unfortunately it didn't have much after either :-?
I've got another planned for later this year with a different brand of essence ( slightly larger bottle too ), hopefully it'll be a bit closer :thumb:

Cheers Tom

I nearly ordered £50 of ingredients just so I could make this brew. Then I realised I already had some grain left and should really think of something to do with that first....

I must admit I am getting a peach aroma from the fv to be honest, and thats using elderflower, so iam hoping I might get some sort of fruit flavour after when its ready

Cheers

Don't want to worry you but I got the same from mine. All seemed well until I actually tasted it. Don't get me wrong, it was still a nice beer. It just wasn't what I was hoping for....

The last order I did through hbs (home brew shop) 25KG maris otter Warminster grain it really lovely grain used 500kg and .20kg of crystal malt but ive noticed when u order from hbs the more u order they adjust the price do its cheaper! and the hops are perfect all the time will always order from there now on, I think iam on to a winner with this brew as within a few hours the fv was bubbling like no tomorrow, so tht cant be bad to see that straight away can it and its smells fantastic :D:D loads of foaming aswell.

We'll guys the time has arrived to taste the the Glory, and I must say it is very similar, and very nice I must say, the elderflower dried, is a good adder, and you do get the fruity flavour, but as per previous comments your rights not very peachy, but a very good brew at least. I am going to give it another week, and then have a session :drink: :drink:

Cheers guys :cheers::cheers::cheers:

Finally getting around to having another pop at this.

Using a 28ml bottle of essence this time rather than 20ml. Different brand too....
Fingers crossed

Where did you get the essence from soup? i am going to brew three different batches this weekend, a guiness type stout, a speckled hen clone and the golden glory clone, so looking forward to it, but i think i am gona try straining the wort through a muslin and sieve, and hopefully get a clear ale rather using to much finnings, so wish me luck, how has your badger peach clone going?

Sorry for the rather late reply......

Search eBay for item number 120950029620 from seller sucrebelle. £2.25 and free delivery. I'll be kegging it tomorrow and I'll try it a week or so after that :)
