So I'm all ready to get bottling, 46 bottles soaking in VWP, bottle tree built...

...then I remember that I've got no ruddy caps...

As they say back up north - Bawheid!

Gutted man!

Theres a lot to said for 2l pop bottles, if you cant get any caps in time could always buy 10 asda value pop or fizzy water bottles and use them. Just a thought if your stuck.

DC

To be fair I could probably rustle up enough empty coopers PETs but what the hell, I'll just have exceptionally sterile bottles tomorrow!

:thumb: proper beer bottles or easy PET beer bottles....
leave 2 ltr pop bottles for pop......................or cider makers..... :D

Theres nothing wrong with 2l pop bottles, a good size for 3 people to get a pint each. Never had any problems with taste etc, just need to keep it the dark. I usually do a mix of beer bottles n 2l plastics when I bottle.

Each to their own tho :thumb:

I was only having fun, taking the mickey....nothing meant nastily....

I know mate, is all good. :thumb:

Just wanted to share my thoughts on 2l bottles. Mrs DC gets trhough about 4l a week so always end up with loads of them. Still, after last Saturdays epice bottling session I only had six 330l bottles left!

Gonna be a nightmare carrying them all in from garage and up stairs to spare room when it get s colder...

Right, that was *ANOTHER* lunchtime trip down to Rob's and now I'm armed with a couple of hundred caps...

...what's going to go wrong with tonight's bottling rerun do we reckon?

I'll start the ball rolling......

Don't to forget to check the the tap on your priming bucket is in the "off" position.

Ssssh Nic, keep that one quiet.... it could have brightened tomorrow up..... :D

Nah you will be fine Callum. got all your hops ?

Thanks chaps...

This is just the bottling of the last two kits that's giving me grief at the mo! They weren't prepared to go down without a fight - both stopped a bit short of expected FG (although both pretty tasty), then the no caps debacle (much embarassment on my part)... they're supposed to come in threes right?

...I'm all sorted for AG#1. I've got a pot, grain bags are somewhere on the M6 at the moment, a bag of milled grain, plenty of hops, some irish moss, campden tabs, yeast and half a plan... it's all good! :thumb:

I managed not to! I think if I did the Controller of Brewing Permissions would be curtailing my activities...

...and not just the brewing ones!
