azda shiraz cordial juice BERRY.

hI THERE YOU JOLLY BREWERS OUT THERE. well I discovered a new juice on azdas shelf last week after reading about a polish juice from the same place its called "Azda extra special shiraz red grape and blackcurrent" its really concentrated so i bought 2 bottles. Put in a DJ made upto a gallon added 450g sugar yeast and nutrient and fermented it out, tasted last night dry yes but the flavor is gr8. :clap: :drink: on to some thing ere. will you try it?????????????

How much sugar does it contain ?
Presumably you boil it up first to drive off the addatives ?

HI AL thanks for looking, I didnt boil it it doesnt contain preservatives nothing on the bottle?? is has 6.7g of sugar per 100ml serving dies that help??? :idea: it fermented like mad at first then settled out. now dry i will rack it soon its on air lock now :thumb: :drink:

Is that the sugar content when diluted ? How much water do they say to add ?

Certainly will. This wine grape and other fruit combo concept sounds like an absolute gift to winemakers.

Not sure I am looking at the same stuff but it seems expensive at £1.98 for 500mls and low in sugar at 67g per lt. At 50/50 dilution it would cost £49.50 for 25lt plus the sugar at 5k x .95p = £4.75 giving a total of £54.25, so a grand total of about £58 once you add in yeast, pectolase, CT, finings etc. Whereas a Beverdale kit will be about £40-45 for the same quantity. But it may be good to add as an adjunct in a recipe to give a bit of vinosity and flavour. At that price I don't think I will be making this into wine on it's own.

I thought the suggested recipe may make a very thin wine. Tempted to make it with four bottles to a gallon though.

Not impressed if its only 50% concentrated and does it contain blackcurrant ? makes you wonder what the grape content actually is, not much of a cordial... Disappointed :cry:

Sounds like the ideal thing to add to a 30 bottle Winebuddy cabernet sauvignon kit, an altogether lightweight red, using 2 bottles and 1 less litre of water. The concentration at 50%, diluted at the rate of 4 parts water, would produce a very light wine on it's own.
