Hello from up north. Wakefield/Doncaster to be precise.

I've been hap hazardly brewing for 35 years or more, and even though i've had some really good brews and some not so good, I don't recall a single one that i've tipped down the sink.
I've had the odd one where 2 glasses is enough for one sitting, or needed the the small addition of fixer (lemonade)
Hey, I'm a yorkshireman, waste not want not as we say up north.

My brewing has generally been beer kits, home made wines and ciders, and currently experimenting with cheapo kits, added spray malts and hops.

For the home made stuff, i tend to just wing it and see what i get.
Experimented with cheese once (not for beer i might add).

Ultimately, i'd like to try a whole grain brew, but being tight, i'd want to do this on a budget, so where else to come but to a friendly forum where i'm hoping to pick up some tips.
 
Hello Mate, from one tight asre to another, this link shows how easy it is to make an all grain beer. I did it with nowt but a huge sieve and a big cooking pot I got from army surplus. Terrific beer too, down to last five or six bottles I think. The guy that wrote it, clibit, is a bit of an oracle, although he won't admit it!

Welcome,, actually apart from any equipment outlay which can be cheap or expensive.. All Grain brewing per brew itself is the cheapest method of brewing.. unless of course you count time as money... but the results are well worth it!! :drink:

Welcome. If you want to save money, which was my motivation when I was out of work in 2006/7, making beer from grain is the cheapest way to do it. Like Bevvied says, get a big cooking pot, like 15 litres, and off you go.
