The Home Brew Company has a wide range of crystal malts. This is the one you want:

There is little clarity on where pale crystal ends and medium crystal begins, or medium crystal ends and dark crystal begins. Home Brew Company does a 113 EBC crystal that I would say is on the borderline between pale and medium. And medium becomes dark somewhere around 200 EBC I think.

Yet another colour confusion is the existence of a third colouring system, SRM. 145 EBC is about 75 SRM, which is what you need for this recipe, not 75L. Dunno why there are 3 systems. Does my head in...

Thanks mate... It does seem a very confusing system with having 3 different methods :/
I have ordered all bits so will be ready to get my first AG on Saturday hopefully :)
I ordered the 145 for this recipe, thanks again for your help. Will keep you posted how it goes! Cheers

WHAT!?!?! .99 for 500g!?!? Damn I'd buy a full bag of that. Here it's about .50 for 100g

What temperature does my Sparge water need to be before sparging. Was just checking all info and only thing i couldnt find. Cheers

Wow... Sounds like you have a bit more cost over in Japan then? :O
How much is your base malts?

They keep the price the same for most… might change by a few cents… most is around that .50 per 100 grams!!!
Seriously going to look into making a homebrew shop here in Japan… this is stupid.

Hi again, had a go at my first time all grain with the worthingtons. Seemed to go pretty well thanks for help. I got it all finished and in FV on last Friday. I took a original gravity and it was 1.054, and it went wild for a few days, has calmed down now. I check gravity on Tuesday and it was 1.014 and have just checked this afternoon and its at 1.010
Would you say its ready for kegging tomorrow or give it longer? Cheers

I would give it longer. Let it condition on the yeast another week, then to the keg, you'll carry less gunk over.

Hiya mate. I have just got it transfered over to keg and added my sugar. Do i just fasten lid on and leave it for another few weeks now? What temp would you leave it at and for how long before i should give it a try? Cheers

It needs to be at fermentation temperature for about two weeks. Better cool after that. Taste it after about 4 weeks from now. Though people do different things.
