all this banter recently has given me reason to prepare this post... MEB flared his nostrils while AT and I were at it... and i reckon AT may be up for the challenge if timezones can be accommodated for.

see i reckon in the upcoming drinkfest between these two will be hard to judge

if MEB's in the morning and AT's at night... i reckon AT might struggle.. the other way around and i think AT might take it if he's used to getting up and cracking open the beer he keeps on his bedside cabinet (a complete load of tosh i just wrote there, but it made for interesting writing )

on the other hand i reckon MEB's all mouth and AT will wipe the floor no matter what time of day

place your bets!

seeing as i've clearly just dropped AT in it... i'll be joining in on this drink'a'thon when it happens too :thumb:

I've never said i'm a big drinker. I just don't drink or brew anything under 5%.

Time difference will be the biggest issue here. I'm trying to get over to UK next year to meet you face to face. So you can have a laugh at my skinny legs and alcohol riddled brain.

We could go for a drinky poo's on my B'Day. 11th Dec.

My money's on A T. There's no way i could ever drink 15 pints. Not even 15 pints of water. I'm 6 ft and weigh 9 1/2 stone. 15 pints is more than my body could possibly hold. Which is why i drink strong beer. Good alcohol tolerance but not much ability for volume.

I accept the challenge and offer the same challenge to any members who want to join in. The more the better, we could make a right good night out of it in the chat room. Last man standing gets the imaginary belt and a bottle off every other guy in the competition? Any takers?

Good idea A T. Nice to see your gonna play too BS. Mind you it's gonna be embarrasing when you lose again...

11 dec next year?

bah that's crazy far away.

definitely agree with AT... i reckon more lambs... ahem i mean RECRUITS would be fun :D

and this time AT, i'm gunna train for it... i'm aiming for 18 pints this time :thumb:

Why would you think next year BS? 11th Dec-next month. I'll happily wake up and get on the beer. So it'll be evening for you. And i'm saving a bottle of 1837 9% IPA for the ocassion. That's real beer BS. You'll need to drink four pints of your shandy to my one 750ml bottle of this beauty.

You going to be drinking shandy again or do you have real beer?

go on then... i'll watch and laugh :D

my personal best was 21 pints back when i was 20 years old and thin as a rake. and the last 3 had whiskey chasers  never beaten that. but i wouldn't mind giving it a go :D

oh i thought you meant a beer in person on the 11th.

are you ahead or behind? cos if that's friday night for us, then i'm game :D

EDIT

meant to say... can do friday, but not thursday night if that's what it'll be for us

I drank 23 pints of Burton on my 23rd birthday. A feat i will never get close to. It was an all day event in my local pub. I still have the receipts somewhere. I was last seen staggering off home with the 23rd pint. So it could have JUST been 22. I did eat a lot that day too. Chilli for lunch and a curry for tea. :D

Oh mate back when i was a young whippet like that i drank in a snooker hall, not for the snooker. The guy who owned the place never asked us to leave  There was one day where he reckoned me and my cousin drank 24 pints each and 3 vodka and red bulls and left to go to a nite club. I reckon that was the height of my drinking and although i still at almost 33 hold some ability i reckon those days are gone

I think we need another thread, the home brew forum drinking comp"
Maybe vote for a day? and have a sign up?

seems like we're all in good stead for a fight then :D

let the training commence :thumb:

I'm in training right now. So while your all asleep i'm getting some practise in. Cos i'm going to need it ;)

I take my hat off to your collective prowess.
I never managed big sessions but in my youth I would normally do in the region of 10 to 12 pints a night. I never managed to keep track of my upper limit, althought I recall one day at my peek me and a mate went on the piss to see how long we would last. The "Steamboat" in Ayr had startted opening at 8am so we decided to see how long we could continuously stay legaly on the Piss. Apparently we were poured into my old mans car at 2am the next morning.

So you'll be joining us in this shindig then Frisp? Go on, it's for a good cause... Er.. Dunno what that cause is but it's probably good. Or something. :D
