If I have a hop with high alpha. Should I use less when adding for aroma? Does it work that way.

doing a 23l brew with nels sauv 11.3% and pilgrim 9.4%. I want more nels aroma and was thinking 20g nels, 15 pilg steep for last 15mins. Sound any good?

No, it doesn't work that way. The alpha acids are only for bittering. The amount of hops to use for aroma depends on the levels of essential oils. Of course, we don't have that information so it's really a case of trial and error and personal taste.

Your quantities sound ok, although I've never used either hop.

Oh Yes We Do
I've used 90g of NS for aroma in my pale rider beer (Not a clone of Kelhams), and it turned out rather nice . . .That was an 18 Gallon Batch and added for a 30 minute steep at 70C, so around 5g per gallon around 25g in your case .. . . .

I would not mix aroma hops and just keep it to one hop otherwise you are going to get a mixture. NS is quite unique aroma wise so I'd be tempted to just use that one.
